Does Any1 Know How the Short Poem goes called a "Deaf Child's Prayer"?

I read it somewhere, but don%26#039;t remember where. But the last two lines went something like this:

...the only words he knew,

%26quot;a ball, a fish, a top, a shoe.%26quot;

Does Any1 Know How the Short Poem goes called a %26quot;Deaf Child%26#039;s Prayer%26quot;?
I found a poem on several sites called A Deaf Child%26#039;s Prayer, but it didn%26#039;t have your text in it.

A Deaf Child%26#039;s Prayer

Do the angels sing in Heaven, Lord?

Will I hear music there?

Or must I stand in a corner

While others join in prayer?

While I wonder what they%26#039;re saying Lord,

As oft I do down here?

Must I sit in lonely stillness

While the bells ring loud and clear?

Can I read your lips in Heaven,

Lord Will I be brushed aside,

And stick my hands in pockets

Because of wounded pride?

Will all the saints there praise thee,

While I in silence wait?

Will some one up in Heaven

Help me through the gate?

Then God, who loves the humble,

Whispered in the poor deaf ear

My child, has no one told you,

There is no silence here.

Hold out your hands, my little one,

For Heaven all to see.

We%26#039;ve heard them pray so many times,

Each prayer reached up to Me.

See, all the angels waiting.

The gates are open wide.

Your crown of life awaits you,

And I shall be your guide.

I have a song to give you,

You%26#039;ll sing both loud and clear.

And the song you sing, my dear one,

Will be the sweetest song up here.

How to talk to another mom about her child's behavior?

I got so many great reponses to my earlier question about a friend%26#039;s child who is bullying my 4 yr old daughter in preschool. Almost everyone suggested that I talk to the friend (bully%26#039;s mom) about it. How do I do that? What do I say? I%26#039;ve never been in this type of situation before, and I%26#039;m trying to think of what my reaction would be if the shoe were on the other foot, but I%26#039;m having a hard time being objective. Advice?

How to talk to another mom about her child%26#039;s behavior?
Most parents will never want to admit to you, let alone themselves, that there is anything wrong with their child that they or you should be concerned about.

Most parents think their children are %26quot;perfect angels%26quot;, and while they are out shopping , and not staying home with their children and raising them properly, they think their children can do no harm. It%26#039;s quite the contrary, isn%26#039;t it?

I am single, never been married, no kids. Every day that I am out and about someone%26#039;s child annoys me.

I have been known to go right up to that parent and say something. Because I can. Because I am a shopper, not an employee or manager of a store and afraid to offend a parent. And because they have it coming to them!

I think the best way is the direct way.

Perhaps in your case, you could present it in such a way that you are making a suggestion on how to remedy the situation, rather than criticize the parent. Your situation may be different if you have a lot of contact with these parents.

Just don%26#039;t allow your children to play with their children. You don%26#039;t want their bad behavior to rub off on your child as acceptable. Maybe they%26#039;ll get the message in that way.
Reply:The way I have handled sticky sit. is to ask the other person how they would handled it . Something Like. %26quot; W hat would you do, if your child was being bullied by a friends child?%26quot; Listen to their answer, then I would ask %26quot; How do I talk to them without making them mad? Or would they think it would be better to speak to the child? ( kindly of course) %26quot; again listen to their answer. Then I would ask them. %26quot; If it were your child would you want me to tell you?%26quot; Depending on their answers, I would either tell them nicely or I would start to keep my child away from theirs, even if that is keeping your child right by you when you are with them. If the second one is what must happen, when they ask me why, I would tell them %26quot; It was your child I was speaking to about. And it sounded to me by what you said this would be better for everyone.%26quot; If they get angery with you ,say something like, %26quot; I thought you cared also for my child, like I care about yours!%26quot; This has worked for me before in lots of sit.. Good Luck!!!!
Reply:Just be honest. Say to her something like:

Hey Insert mom;s name here, can I just talk to you quickly? You know, you son is such a cute, energetic little guy that I am worried he might intimidate my daughter a bit when they are together. Do you think you could talk to him about toning down some when playing with her? We all just want them to have good, clean, honest fun and I would hate it if he got the wrong impression. I don%26#039;t want his feelings to be hurt b/c my daughter would come across as not wanting to play with him b/c she is a little nervous and feels overwhelmed. I did tell her that all kids play differently and some more aggressive then others (and DO have that conversation with her) but it would just make me feel a lot better if you could let him know that he is a little too aggressive around my daughter -- she is the stereotypical delicate flower (Kind of laugh about it). We just love little (insert name here) and want him to have the best time.

Keep it upbeat and playful -- that you are concerned for his feelings....
Reply:Just tell the mom honestly - %26quot;I%26#039;m really uncomfortable having to bring this up, but for whatever reason my daughter feels uncomfortable with your child. (and the wording above is okay, although don%26#039;t oversell the %26quot;delicate%26quot; nature of your daughter, then the other mom might just think she is over sensitive. I think it is a little overkill, I think less is more)

But I%26#039;d also ask %26quot;Do you think we could arrange a park playdate together so they can get to know each other on a friendlier basis.%26quot;

Then see how the park playdate goes. If he continues to bully her in front of the mom, then she%26#039;ll see it and hopefully address it. If they get along great, perhaps this is the first step in solving the problem. If he bullies her and mom does nothing then you%26#039;ll have to decide how to handle it. (Personally, since I used to teach and am not afraid to correct other kids, I%26#039;d say to the boy - Johnny, Sally doesn%26#039;t like it when you do that, why don%26#039;t you....instead. After hearing that a few times hopefully mom will step up)

And do talk to your daughter and make sure she isn%26#039;t being sensitive, and that she has the skills to handle someone like that without being mean herself.

Good Luck

Write a linear eq. expressing S as a function of L for the problem below?

If a child%26#039;s foot is 7.75%26quot;, then the child wears a size 13. If the child foot is 5.75 the child wears size 7. The shoe size S is a linear function of the length of the foot L.

Write a linear eq. expressing S as a function of L for the problem below?
A linear eq has the form y = ax + b; for this problem, S = aL + b, and you need to find values for a and b (two unknowns). You are given two conditions: S = 13 when L = 7.75, and S = 7 when L = 5.75. Set up the equations:

13 = a*7.75 + b

7 = a*5.75 + b

Solve for a and b by any of the methods used for simultaneous linear equations.

Ex: subtract the second eq from the first to get

6 = 2*a. or a = 3

Then put a into either equation to get b:

13 = 7.75*3 + b, or b = 13 - 3*7.76 = -10.25

so the linear eq is

S = 3*L - 10.25

About what age do a child's feet stop growing?

My 11 year old son wears a size 13 men%26#039;s shoe. Has anyone noticed at about what age their feet slow down?

About what age do a child%26#039;s feet stop growing?
Your feet never stop growing. But they usually slow way down at around the same time your body stops growing and that%26#039;s different for everybody. (Usually during the late teenage years though)
Reply:im 15 and ive been about a 14 for the last few years. I think feet stop growing when puberty stops.
Reply:i%26#039;m 12 and wear a 9.5. So it isn%26#039;t that big.
Reply:15... actually mines are 12 and a half;.... but I think your sons would stop at that age like mines too... Iguess it is pretty normal for them to continue graowing
Reply:im thirteen and wear a 12 but it hasnt changed in 6 months
Reply:Never. haha they dont stop but they stop REALLY growing when someone is no longer a teenager.
Reply:My son%26#039;s feet stopped when he was 14, and mine stopped when i was about 15!
Reply:well im 15 and a size 10 so i guess it should stop when hes 15 or 16
Reply:haha i hope your kidding 13 mens shoe do you know how big that is? are you sure 13 mens

but they usually stop around age 17
Reply:When they reach pubity....
Reply:depends on child cause look at shaq he was like 6 foot 4 at the age of wat like 14
Reply:I%26#039;d say around 18-24.
Reply:24 years for my son - he wears a size 15!
Reply:Mine didn%26#039;t stop growing until I was 22. I guess it depends on the person.

Why did social services allow the old woman who lived in a shoe to go unchallenged when she had kids with her?

This is a serious question. I mean, it would surely have been unsanitary and dangerous to her children%26#039;s health?

Why did social services allow the old woman who lived in a shoe to go unchallenged when she had kids with her?
heres the thing at the time there was no childrens services and they moost certainly did not have the rediculous rules that DFS has theese days
Reply:yeah the sound whipping didnt do much for their health either, but at least they were well rested
Reply:Well, they didn%26#039;t have social services back then, and at one point in time if you beat your children (or your wife) it didn%26#039;t matter because they were your property.......My how things have changed!
Reply:Come on people, I dont really think they have social services in nursery rhymes! maybe she went unchalleneged because its a kids rhyme, not real, was only made coz it rhymes and makes kids laugh! i dont think its ment to be taken any where near this seriously!
Reply:Same goes for %26quot;Rock A Bye Baby%26quot;

Maybe these are all %26quot;notes%26quot; written from neighbors to give to their local authorities.
Reply:um mm lol, that%26#039;s a fairy tale.... social services don%26#039;t go in fairy tales....

if your interested in the social serves go to the web page, they might have one....
Reply:there are kids out there that live in worse conditions! nothings done about them -
Reply:Because she was their sole support - since dad was a heel.
Reply:That%26#039;s our flawed system maybe they did a home visit on a day when the shoe looked clean and safe maybe in that state as long as the kids are not being abused it%26#039;s okay to be homeless at least the rain was not pouring down on them maybe the shoe was waterproof a zillion reasons why kids fall thru the cracks
Reply:it was a detached shoe with lots bedrooms and playrooms for the kiddies.... a bit like the tardis, small on the outside.. spacious on the inside.the bathrooms very the cleanest in the land(she was the original bleach maiden) as for her kitchen... well she had every appliance under the sun.i thought everyone knew that...her profession was a nursery teacher before she had her litter.hope that puts your mind at rest...
Reply:Because there wasnt a %26quot;sole%26quot; around to report her.
Reply:I think it was a fairly big shoe.
Reply:...and the dish ran away with the spoon...
Reply:When I were a kid, shoes were things of luxury. We only had a cardboard box. 18 of us there were, and I had to go to work down the pit for 27 hours a day, come home, bathe in ice water, eat a dry crust of bread and then sleep on a bed of nails etc, etc....
Reply:nobody grasses on her. There are millions of kids living in squalor and being horrendously abused right now, but either nobody knows or nobody cares enough to report it, sometimes even when they do, social services does nothing.

Remember little Victoria Climbie? Social services didn%26#039;t.
Reply:why people always got to pick on the woman. how come u don%26#039;t question peter pumpkin eater?
Reply:maybe she kept it clean. and back then they didn%26#039;t have services so she could get away with having children and not having to feed them when they were bad. Yet she could used alot of foot repelant to keep it smelling fresh. And if they lived in a shoe either it was a giant%26#039;s shoe or they were tiny elves and the services wouldn%26#039;t even know they were there.
Reply:A serious question....? Well here`s a serious answer - have you any idea how hard life was in those days ? If you had any shoes at all you were lucky -most kids went around barefoot - i remember my brother going to school in one old shoe and one wellie in winter, we were so hard up. So to be having even one shoe - she would have had to be pretty well off. That`s why.
Reply:Thats the olden days for you dont even think there was a social services lucky you live in the 21st centuary. I am sure it would all be differant now
Reply:lol
Reply:how can you ask a serious question about a nursery song, in that case why did noone notice a dish running away with a spoon and a cow jumping over the moon, dont take it to heart, cos i once new of a little boy who lived down a drain and noone cared about that either
Reply:I guess it depends on how clean she kept the shoe and how often her kids got injured. It would also depend on whether or not her neighbors called to report her.
Reply:lol. u seen d pics of tat shoe!??! i wanted to live in that shoe when i was a lil kid...v sad i kno. mind, musta bin a very cheesey place. bet they got bullied at school for their whiff.....lol

also, exactly when have social EVER done their jobs properly?!?!
Reply:She was geting a kick back from the infamous Dr. Schoells. And the social worker let her slipper by with it as he was a real heel.
Reply:well they went round once and she booted them out, when the police caught up with her she hotfooted it.

A child's view of the police?

While taking a routine vandalism report at an elementary school, I was interrupted by a little girl about 6 years old. Looking up and down at my uniform,

She asked, %26quot;Are you a cop?%26quot; Yes,%26quot; I answered and continued writing the report. %26quot;My mother said if I ever needed help I should ask the police. Is that right? %26quot;Yes, that%26#039;s right,%26quot; I told her. %26quot;Well, then,%26quot; she said as she extended her foot toward me, %26quot;would you please tie my shoe?%26quot;

A child%26#039;s view of the police?

I bbsit for a state trooper, one day he came home laughing, I had to ask what was up. He said he pulled over a man with two boys in the back seat. As he walked up to the car, the man rolled down his window, and the trooper heared two little voices %26quot; bad boys bad boys, whatha gonna do whacha gonna do when they come for you!%26quot; The father was trying to get them to bequiet, but the trooper just laughed so hard he couldnt write the warning, he just had to force out between the laughter that his taillight had been out.

Reply:I had a car accident with my son in the car when he was 4. No one was hurt, but when the state trooper got there my son ran up to him and said %26quot; Are you gonna shoot us?%26quot;
Reply:lol.. thats cute... are you really a cop or did you just want to tell a little story??

When I was a kid, I used to think that policemen were smart, and fair and could help you at all times.

When I was a teenager, I found that cops (or at least the ones I dealt with) are *****!!!!!!!!!

Now that I%26#039;m an adult, it can go both ways.
Reply:ha ha. Funny! I assume that you did tie her shoe for her? After all, her mother told her that police were there to help her!
Reply:That is what police is expected to help children. Innocence.
Reply:I%26#039;m a student living in Sydney, so my view may not be as innocent as a child, but I have come to respect the values of the police force and what it stands for.

When I was younger, I was lead to believe that cops were role models, the fighters for justice and helping out the little folks. Now in the final years of my teens, I have seen how media portrays the police in both lights.

Police have it bad in the sense that they have to deal with all the crap that%26#039;s dealt their way, life threatening situations and such, and to deal with the backlash of a few screw ups and corrupted officers.

True and honest cops are true role models and should be more widely respected.

If you hate cops, chances are (and I know not in all cases, with racism and ****) that the reason is because they were trying to do their job.

Poll: Is it normal for a mother to still be holding on to her child's toys for memories?

My husband will be 30 this year and his mother still has his tricycle and many of his toys from when he was a baby and a small child. She also still has some of his clothing. She still has his bronzed baby shoes on display in the living room, and she even has a lock of his hair (from when he was a toddler) saved in a baggie. I think this is so weird. I could see maybe one or two things, but why would she still be holding on to all this?

Poll: Is it normal for a mother to still be holding on to her child%26#039;s toys for memories?
I would say it%26#039;s considered normal because it happens pretty often.

I personally don%26#039;t consider it positive behavior because it%26#039;s a sign that she isn%26#039;t letting go and therefore not evolving herself. Plus, she is basing her identity on being a mother and guardian when one isn%26#039;t necessary. A shrine is for morning a loss, children just grow up.
Reply:Its very normal and quite common, I have saved art work and stories my daughter has done in kindergarten. Children are a moms greatest gifts in life and just looking at those baby items can bring the best memories of our life back.
Reply:It%26#039;s perfectly normal!
Reply:Of course thats normal!

I think.....o.o
Reply:she is holding on to these things because he is still her child and will remain so forever. parenting doesn%26#039;t stop when your child becomes an adult. many people save the toys to pass on to grand children or for memories sake. And it doesn%26#039;t matter if you have one kid or ten although with only one kid it is easier to save momentos. Doesn%26#039;t your mother have anything of yours any more?
Reply:I still havesome of my son%26#039;s toys, but they%26#039;re going to his son when they come back to the states. Some things are worth keeping! It%26#039;s sweet as long as it%26#039;s not out of control. My son is sentimental and likes to keep special things, but he%26#039;s not a packrat.
Reply:nothing wrong with that,do you still keep photographs to remind you of the laughs you had,

Oh hun yes hold onto as much as you can because they grow soooooo damn fast
Reply:It%26#039;s her life, her memories. Some people like tangible reminders of the important things in their past. Some don%26#039;t.

It%26#039;s not weird. It%26#039;s just what%26#039;s important to her, what makes her feel content.
Reply:Yes, its normal. Well maybe its a lost art. Looking at baby books now they aren%26#039;t like the baby books of past. My baby book from the seventies has a glued envelope for the lock of hair from your first hair cut. Saving a few special items to pass down to the grandchildren is very common. In fact my favorite stuff to use now are the family heirlooms. High chair my brothers used. Christening gowns and little tennis shoes. Wooden cradles and rocking chairs, afghans and blankets.

Its a shame our culture has succumbed to this buy it, use it and trash it mentality. It really is a shame.
Reply:It%26#039;s perfectly normal. Sometimes it%26#039;s fun to go back and look at your favorite childhood things. My mom kept a lot of me and my sister%26#039;s toys. My dad would throw it in the garbage can and my mom would take it out and put it away.

I keep all my children%26#039;s items from their firsts. My 13 year old loves to open up her bag of stuff and look at it.

I think it%26#039;s weird not to.
Reply:My husband%26#039;s mother saved a lot of the same things too. I find myself doing the same thing with some of my child%26#039;s things.
Reply:Are you kidding?? Of course it%26#039;s normal. I have the locks of hair from the first haircut my girls got, I have their %26quot;blankies%26quot; that they just couldn%26#039;t part with until they were big girls..I have outfits from when they were tiny and first came home from the hospital...hospital ID bracelets...and the list goes on and on. We hold onto them because we see them grow soooo fast and just want something to hold onto from that time in their life. You probably don%26#039;t have children yet so you wouldn%26#039;t know, but just wait till you have yours, you%26#039;ll be saving all sorts of things too!!
Reply:the baby shoes yes on a plaque

the lock of hair yes in a scrapbook

the tricycle and toys no unless she has a garage with unlimited space.

if she dose where can i get one?
Reply:I guess I am weird then!

I have a lock of each of my kids hair (from their 1st haircut) in each of their baby books.

I keep some pictures that they drew from each year of their life (it%26#039;s fun to look at them and see how their ability changes from year to year).

I have every Mother%26#039;s Day gift they have ever given me (even the tennis balls, and I don%26#039;t play tennis but they are what my daughter wanted to give me).

I have the outfit each of my children came home from the hospital in, they are all tucked away.

I have a few pieces of clothing that were their favorite for some reason, I haven%26#039;t decided what I want to do with them yet.

My mother in law kept a whole pile of my husband%26#039;s blue jeans, she has now made quilts for our son%26#039;s beds out of them. They think it%26#039;s soooo cool to have daddy%26#039;s jeans on their beds.

My parents kept some of our toys (some of them are worth some money now!) and my kids play with them when they go there.

Maybe you aren%26#039;t someone that likes to do this, but I don%26#039;t know many parents that haven%26#039;t got boxes of stuff somewhere. Just because it%26#039;s on display doesn%26#039;t make it weird, she is saying that she is proud of her son!
Reply:i dont think its strange to keep things like a few of the outfits and a lock of hair, or the bronze shoes. that was HER baby and she will always look at him like that. hopefully all of the stuff is not out on display bc that may be a little obsessive but i think its perfectly normal. and how do you know shes not saving those toys for his baby someday?

who knows, but every mom saves stuff. they r only little once and we know they will grow up and leave us. so one day, she can sit down and pull this stuff out and remember when he was HER (little) man, instead of yours.

i guarantee you your own mothe rprob has some of your stuff. leave her be and look at it differently. its good, it shows she loves her son!

good luck and congrats if pregger.
Reply:I don%26#039;t see anything weird about it. Those things bring back fond memories of her precious baby. Even though he%26#039;s 30, he%26#039;ll always be her baby. There%26#039;s just no getting around it. Accept it and appreciate the love she has for him, then let everything else go. Your relationship with DH and your mil will be much happier if you stop thinking of how weird her behavior is (even when it%26#039;s REALLY weird) and just love her for who she is.
Reply:My only problem would be with them being on display in the living room. But basically, it%26#039;s her business I guess.
Reply:Maybe she is saving them for her grandchildren!
Reply:Spoken like someone who has never raised a child. It%26#039;s perfectly normal and very common for a mother to save things. I have a lock of my son%26#039;s hair from his first haircut, his first pair of shoes, and many toys and clothing items. I%26#039;m holding onto them because he will always be my baby to me, and I want to remember his childhood. Something as seemingly insignificant as a little pair of shoes is priceless to a loving mom.
Reply:My parents kept a lot of toys and stuff.. Now they%26#039;re getting played with by their grandson when he comes to visit.

Everyone%26#039;s different, some of us are a lot more pack-rat like then others. That%26#039;s just the personality type you%26#039;re born with. Heck, I have some of my old dogs toys.. I hate to think what I%26#039;ll save if we ever have kids.. lol
Reply:I have a small box for each of my children. In it I have a couple of favorite toys(mostly stuffed animals that they carried everywhere) and a few pieces of clothing and their first shoes. I also have a small file folder for each of their school years for pictures they drew, report cards and such. When my last child was born, my MIL gave me a teddy bear (patches and all) that was my husbands favorite. I had it shadow boxed and it still hangs in my daughters room.

I think keeping everything is a bit much. Just my opinion.
Reply:yes its normal i secretly have all my kids old toys in the attic even though they are in there teens its nice to have memories of the children u gave birth too.
Reply:I am 37 and my sisters and brother in their 40%26#039;s and my mother still has special toys of ours put away and locks of hair, special outfits etc. My oldest is almost 16 and I have a lock of hair from her first haircut, the outfit she wore home from the hospital, her christening gown, first rattle, first baby doll, first blanket and more stuff in a box in the attic. With my mom as our kids got older she would give them something of ours from when we were small, the rest she still keeps for when they get married and then it will go to them. Their is nothing weird about it some people are just more sentimental than others and keep it because of that reason. same with pictures to me. It is no different to have all those photo albums with pictures of every milestone you do it to keep the memory there.

I don't know what to do with my child's frustration...any ideas?

Ok so today I%26#039;m sitting down with my kid trying to prepare her for kindergarten and we start practicing her last name. I see that she get%26#039;s the letter S backwards, so I think, no biggie, I%26#039;ll just show her how to do it....and she FLIPS OUT AGAIN. She gets upset and wants to quit EVERYTIME she doesn%26#039;t get something the 1st time around. The same thing happened when I taught her how to tie her shoes....she cried and cried and wanted to quit, but I didn%26#039;t let her and I even had to %26quot;take her to the washroom%26quot; if you know what I mean...then we kept at it until she got it and she was SOOOO happy when she learned....but is that how I have to teach her? By giving her or threatening her with whoopin%26#039;s? There has to be another way...I feel like such a failure because that%26#039;s the only way I know how to teach her to do new things. Does anyone have any comments, question or suggestions? Thanks!

I don%26#039;t know what to do with my child%26#039;s frustration...any ideas?
I remember being 5 and my mom wanted me to finish these books where I needed to write the alphabet 10 times. I remember crying and throwing a tantrum and just feeling frustrated and helpless. I guess my point is... cut your child some slack! It%26#039;s not like she%26#039;s not trying, but some kids just take longer to learn than others. Why don%26#039;t you take it one step at a time, and not yearn for perfection right away. Also, why don%26#039;t you reward her for trying--so that next time, she%26#039;ll try harder and she%26#039;ll get a bigger reward. Be patient!
Reply:Wow I agree with the poster and the fact if you%26#039;re out chasing married men and worried about your love life you are the one screwing up your kid. If you think it doesn%26#039;t effect them you%26#039;re crazy. Stop being so selfish. Report It

Reply:A. Stop hitting your kid ASAP. That is teaching her to lash out when she gets frustrated just like mom does. It%26#039;s the WORST thing you can do as a parent.

B. Give her time to make her own mistakes.

C. Have her see a councilor. She may need therapy after your beatings. You should see one to!
Reply:I hardly think that %26quot;whoopins%26quot; are acceptable punishment for her having a hard time dealing with learning something new. (If this is a serious ? and not just someone messing around...) There shouldn%26#039;t be ANY punishment for her frustration in dealing with learning. If anything, I would quit trying for a while, not force her to do it. That%26#039;ll only make things worse, not only now, but it%26#039;ll cause problems in the future.

Leave things such as shoes to tie, or in this case some paper and pencil or whatever you are using to practice writing, out and readily available for her to try on her own when she feels she may have the patience and be in the right mood to try it. It%26#039;ll happen eventually, those kinds of things always do.

If she gets upset very easily, (I%26#039;m sure many adults can relate also, kids aren%26#039;t the only ones who frustrate easily) just try again another time and leave her alone until she calms down. Find something else to do and don%26#039;t worry about it at the time. Do something else with her that will make her feel a sense of accomplishment, like giving her a specific task around the house or having her help you with something. Something you know she will be able to do, so she won%26#039;t get upset about it.
Reply:It isnt a good idea to be threatening at all with a child. They will in turn become threatening to others just to get their own way. This will make them afraid of you and afraid of you teaching them because they wont respect you, they will hate you, and fear you. I would suggest reverse psycology...

For spelling her name... Maybe try putting her name on her belongings. Her bedroom door, her school box, book bag, her toy box... if she gets frustrated, its more likely to come from your frustration, even if we dont admit it, as parents its hard to teach our children the simplest things because they are easy to us...

If you see her getting upset, be encouraging and ask her if she would like to cool down and try again later on.

Maybe if you got the Fridge magnets and showed her the %26quot;S%26quot; and spell her name with it. Or cut outs of letter. Let her trace. She will eventually learn which way the snake points his tounge... ssssssss
Reply:Maybe part of it is how you%26#039;re presenting the material. Try turning it into a game... something with a lot of small rewards along the way, then a bigger reward when she gets it right.

And if she still gets frustrated, don%26#039;t get frustrated back. Just say something like, %26quot;OK, we%26#039;ll do this another time.%26quot; You can be persistent with short lessons... it may take longer, but I think she%26#039;ll start to soften up after awhile.
Reply:Time and patience. Don%26#039;t push or expect since she is %26quot;such and such%26quot; an age she should be doing this or that. Let her be a kid. Too many parents expect perfection and think its so great if their kid is the %26quot;first%26quot;. You should not be punishing a child for not learning to tie her shoes or for heaven%26#039;s sake writing an S backwards. She will get it all in time and if she is slow or needs help they%26#039;ll see that in school. Just remember to have excellent communication with her teachers! At all times. When any one of my kids ever had a problem I always asked the teacher how can WE deal with this together, what do you want us to do at home.

OK, this is disgusting, I just looked at your profile and other questions you%26#039;ve asked and you asked one about being in love with another man even though you%26#039;re married. HELLOOOOO??? Selfish woman, maybe your problems with your kid stem from the fact that you are more worried about what man you%26#039;re getting etc..than about taking care of your kid. What is wrong with people. These precious children are given to us for such a short time for us to love and raise and help along the way to adulthood and then BAM they are raised and out on their own and we can only dream of the days when they were so yound and needed us,...IT GOES BY SO FAST! So put away your selfish, selfish ways and RAISE YOUR BABY. Love her and make her your first priority! Man, how sad. Your child will one day walk out the door grown up and you will have your time to do what you want, when you want, how you want, but do not cheat your child out of the time that should be hers right now. Be a mother first!

No wonder your kid has problems, look in the mirror.
Reply:Be calm. I believe you are transmitting your nerves to her. You want everything to be perfect, so that%26#039;s why your child can%26#039;t do what you tell to her. Try teaching her things with a smile on your face, stop being harsh and serious. Your child will finally learn from you, but you must sometimes let her quit. Don%26#039;t you also quit when you don%26#039;t succeed to do something for the first time.

About how much money did you spend on your child's 1 birthday??

My husband spent almost $100 on just the dress and the shoes...its really nice but i dont kno.....budget isnt the problem but Im not sure how much is too much...its probably going to be about 20 people

How much was your average total on everything?

About how much money did you spend on your child%26#039;s 1 birthday??
We spent $300 total, including beer and beef for the barbeque. We kept it small - just family. The kids played in the back yard. At one, the party is for you anyway - not the baby. There%26#039;s no practical purpose for blowing a wad on a huge party.
Reply:It%26#039;s your child%26#039;s 1st birthday, don%26#039;t worry about it! Spend as much as you absolutely want! Especially considering the fact that you say budget isn%26#039;t a problem!
Reply:Dress - Kmart, $13.

New Shoes - birthday present, $0.

Park Rental - $10

Games/entertainment - $0. (They played on the park equipment.)

Music - $0. (Boombox from home.)

6%26#039; sub, chips, salad, cake, water/soda - $60-$70ish.

Generic primary colored decorations - $10

Gifts - $25.

Guests: about 25-30 (all family %26amp; close family friends).

Total: Less than $150. And she had the time of her life.

How do I remove Sharpie Marker (black) from my child's skin?

My grandchild is 19 mos old and got hold of a sharpie marker (black) and decided to decorate her arms and legs not to mention her dress and shoes. I need to know what is the best and safest way to remove it.

How do I remove Sharpie Marker (black) from my child%26#039;s skin?
It will fade on its own. Soap and water will help.
Reply:Here are a couple of methods I used when my daughter did the same thing:

Soak a cotton ball in baby oil or baby lotion and rub gently until marker is gone. Use a q-tip or old toothbrush to get underneath fingernails.

Rub a small amount of Vaseline on marks, then wash the area with warm soap and water.

As for the clothes...use rubbing alcohol or a non-oily hairspray, let it set then launder.
Reply:rubbing alcohol

or

soap and water and a little elbow grease will get most of it...

my daughter used to the same thing all the time
Reply:Spray some hairspray on a soft cloth %26amp; gently rub the area. It may take a while to come off but in time it should. Wash her arms %26amp; legs afterwards.
Reply:you could try using rubbing alcohol.......hope it works
Reply:You should try hair spray. Spray it on and then blot before it dries. Good Luck. I%26#039;ve used this on dry erase board when kids have used a sharpie and it works!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:time. It will go away in a few days...and a few baths. Dont worry about it....

People will understand.

Dont try to scrub it off this will just hurt her skin. Sometimes just letting them take an hour long bath will fade it pretty good.
Reply:scrub it off with soap for a while and hot water but gently...it comes off. by the next day it will come of. try using alot of soap :-) good luck
Reply:i would ry rubbing alchol and then dish soap. it will wash of in a few days if that don%26#039;t work
Reply:Nowadays, most markers are non-toxic (probably includiong Sharpie Markers). It shouldn%26#039;t be a direct health issue if she has decided to drawn on her self.

Just use warm water and soap to remove the marker, but it really shouldn%26#039;t be a big deal. Within 2 or 3 days, you shouldn%26#039;t notice the marker stains on her arms and legs anymore (they should be fading)
Reply:probably washing with soap and time
Reply:No need to do anything to your grandchild. Anything no matter how gentle will not be good for her at this gentle age. Permanent marker is only permanent on porous surfaces but not on our skin. The marker stain will come off but itself.

Try applying some clorox (colour clorox for coloured clothes). Apply it with small brush on the decorated areas only.

Anyway, if the dress and shoes are too decorated, you can discard it off for good. Babies grow so fast. You can try all ways and means to clean the stains but your grandchild will outgrow these pieces very soon.

Reserve your time and effort for your grandchild instead.
Reply:Pour rubbing alcohol onto a paper towel, then use it to rub off the ink. You can use a gritty hand soap or cleansing cream to do the job, too. One homestyle hint is to dip a cotton ball into milk and swipe over the stain. Hardware stores also carry special natural hand cleansers, gentle to the skin, that will remove these marker stains.
Reply:Time.
Reply:rubbing alcohol
Reply:Rubbing alchohol will do it. Don%26#039;t rub too hard.
Reply:I found this on a different site,

%26quot;The nice people at Sharpie advise us to:

Take the child into a warm soapy bath and gently stroke the area. Never rub as this just buries it deeper into the skin.. The best soap to use is Gerber Giggles and Grins. Apply it to the area and gently wash away. If that doesn’t do it, gently stroke the area with rubbing alcohol (rinse well and put the rubbing alcohol up high right afterwards of course).%26quot;

Though rubbing alcohol probably works well, I wouldn%26#039;t use it on a baby%26#039;s skin.

I hope this helps, good luck!
Reply:Let it grow out, she is far to young to be exposed to harsh chemicals... embarrasing but understandable.
Reply:You%26#039;ll need to slice off the first few layers of skin to remove that, stop when you hit bone.

Or LOTS of soap and hard scrubbin%26#039;.
Reply:Just let it wash off itself. Permanent markers are permanent only on paper, and other hard surfaces. On skin, everything is washable.
Reply:go to the hardware store and investigate goof off. that, and time....
Reply:Butter or vegetable oil then gentle rubbing with a paper towel or soft cloth. Then dish detergent and water. It won%26#039;t remove it all with one application but it will be gone in a couple of days if applied twice a day. Also, skin dies off and is replaced with new tissue on a daily basis. It will wear off your grand-daughters skin, so no worries there. Her clothes on the other hand -- well ... nothing can save that problem but at least they%26#039;re only clothes. Ya gotta love kids, man. They teach you more than you ever bargained for.
Reply:Wash her/him with soap and scrub a while. The clothes though...not so sure about.
Reply:Nail Polish remover will remove it or if you leave it alone it will wear/wash off in a short period of time.
Reply:Rubbing alcohol will do the trick!
Reply:Just grab a really soft spong, and put soat on it and rub it off, it wont hert abit, and it%26#039;s safe! (ps use dish soap, it works the best)
Reply:hmm hairspray

What is the best way to turn a child's frown upside down?

I have a 2nd interview tomorrow w/ Payless Shoe Source and one of my interview questions is going to be..

%26#039; A child needs his foot measured but he/she is very cranky, crying, or refuses... how would you go about measuring his/her foot?%26#039;

Ivehad experience w/ children and pyschology... i do know that i should get on their eye level when talking with them. What would be a creative answer/ideas?? what would YOU say to the child/do/act??

Please help!!

What is the best way to turn a child%26#039;s frown upside down?
Hey, sweetie, what%26#039;s your name?

Are you looking forward to getting some new shoes today, that means that you%26#039;re going to be a big boy/girl...are you a big boy/girl now? Would you like to help me see how big your foot is? Let%26#039;s measure my hand first, and see if your foot is bigger than it...that%26#039;s a great job!

You%26#039;re such a good helper...hey, mom, do you think that I could borrow your son/daughter to help me measure other children%26#039;s feet, because s/he is SO good at it!
Reply:You could suggest that the child%26#039;s mother or father (or whoever brought them in) measure the child%26#039;s foot, since they would probably be more likely to allow them to do it than a stranger.

You could also ask them for suggestions, since no one knows a child like their parent. It might also be a good idea to keep things like balloons, or small, cheap toys on hand to bribe children with. Those things seem to work quite well with calming children down, and it%26#039;s an inexpensive gift that they can keep if they get attached to it. Candy (sugar-free might be a good suggestion) might also work too.

Kids love humor, too, so maybe you could try making faces at them, or being silly.

You might also be able to ask the parent or guardian what size shoe they wear, and ask if they%26#039;re coming in because they outgrew them, then go a size or two up until you find a good fit.
Reply:Well, im assuming they have those metal things the kids put their foot in, so i would probably act like it was something extra special. Like %26quot;Whoa, you get to have your foot measured? Thats only for super special kids, are you sure youre up for it? Its super important, etc etc%26quot; This tactic always works on my son.
Reply:it has so much to do with how old the child is. is the child scared? does the child not know you and therefore doesn%26#039;t feel comfortable? is the child afraid of the whole foot measruing idea? is he child just tired? why is the child uncooperative? you need to work out some various scenarios with these questions in mind and then come up with answers for how you%26#039;d deal with different ones. Sometimes a kid just needs 30 seconds of eye contact with you in order to feel comfortable. tell them your name. ask them their name.
Reply:give them something fun to play with, maybe a personal special employee object that won%26#039;t be able to injure him or break. or show him how to measure your foot and then ask him to measure his own
Reply:Talk in a nice calm voice, keep your temper and patience, TRY and calm her down, and then just keep measuring. If she won%26#039;t let you, don%26#039;t measure her foot and wait for her parent to deal with her, and THEN if all works out, measure her foot.
Reply:It depends on the age for sure, if you%26#039;re talking a toddler you can do the whole, %26quot;I%26#039;m gonna get your toes and tickle hir or her feet%26quot; A slightly older child you might be able to say, hey I need help measuring my foot, can you help me? Let the child help you then you help him.

The best answer though I think is, %26quot;children are drawn to me, I have a natural gift to make them happy and laugh so I don%26#039;t even think that would be a concern!%26quot;

Be confident in your interview, I KNOW for a fact that Payless needs you more than you need them...at least have that attitude, confidence alone will win you the job!

Good luck!!

Hard decision- would you smuggle drugs for your child's life.?

if you had a child who was going to die if they didnt have an operation which was going to cost you some money that you did not have as the NHS or everyone you knew was not prepared to do the operation without getting paid and no-one wanted to give you money or a loan would you be prepared to do something illegal like smuggling drugs into a country and harming other peoples lives so you can save your child.

my view- i wouldn%26#039;t do it as ill be harming more people lives but as i dont have a child so i cant put my feet in their shoes

Hard decision- would you smuggle drugs for your child%26#039;s life.?
That is a tough tough decision. It is amazing what a parent will do for their child. Have you ever seen that movie %26quot;John Q.%26quot; That right there was hardcore, but I couldn%26#039;t say I would not do it myself if it came down to my child%26#039;s health.

It%26#039;s just so risky. What if I did decide to smuggle the drugs? What if I end up getting busted, then ended up in jail and my child dying and me not being there for him?

I have to say this, though....if there was no way I would ever get busted....I would do it. If it meant saving my child%26#039;s life. Then yeah.
Reply:I would do anything to save my childs life, legal, illegal, moral, immoral, anything!
Reply:I don%26#039;t have a child either, but I have a feeling that if I did, I would be willing to do whatever it takes to keep it healthy and safe. I%26#039;m not sure that%26#039;s the way I would try it, but my child would come first.
Reply:Ever messed with a mamma bear? she would do anything to protect her cubs.
Reply:WOW EVERYONE WOULD DO IT FOR THEIR CHILDREN AND IF I HAD CHILDREN I WOULD DO IT AS WELL I MEAN THOSE OTHER PPL ARE GONNA GET DRUGS EITHER WAY ITS WHAT THEY WANT I WOULD ONLY BE SCARED OF GOING TO JAIL BUT I WOULD DO IT
Reply:I would. My child (if I had one) would be more important to me than anyone or anything else. Perhaps that is selfish of me, but I see it as a sacrifice for my child. I would rather go to jail (those drugs would get into the country anyway... if I didn%26#039;t take them, somebody else would) than to see my child die.

Of course, that is a very extreme situation that will probably never happen to me... and I would never smuggle drugs unless it was for a similar reason. The benefit would have to outweigh the risks and consequences.
Reply:You do what you%26#039;ve got to do. End of discussion.
Reply:Save the child and worry about the money later!
Reply:No because it is a fallacy . Drug dealers use any rationale for their creepy crime . There are many legitimate ways to help a sick child . many charities , like St. Jude ; or Children%26#039;s Miracle Network . To choose the worst way in the world in the name of your sick kid..is a sick cop-out . What%26#039;s the poor sick kid going to do without parents - while they rot in prison ?
Reply:no cause i wouldnt have a child
Reply:of course i would. my childs life means more to me than anything else in the worl or anyone
Reply:i would but if it hurts more people then naw
Reply:i would for my kid in a heart beat, F everyone else i dont know them and couldnt care less what happens to them
Reply:hell yeah i would do it in a heart beat i would give my own life for thoes of my kids ant any given moment no questions asked you should watch the movie john q with denzel washington thats a good movie just about this and i would do the same thing in his shoes
Reply:Easy decision...absolutely. I%26#039;d do nearly anything for my children....period.
Reply:yes, without a doubt. i would probably commit terrible acts of atrocity to save my children%26#039;s lives. i%26#039;m almost ashamed to admit it.
Reply:I would almost do anything! Anser #1 wher in the Bible did you get that? capter and verse
Reply:You are saving someones life so it is no sin.

I got this answer from the bible.
Reply:If i had kids, i would do anything to protect them. It is part of the responsibility of being a parent.
Reply:You are harming more people than you are helping so the reasonable answer would be no.But emotions get in the way of intellect at moments when something bad is happen, like your child dying for instance. The only thing you can think about is what happens to your baby, your flesh and blood. All other people do not matter any more.Emotion and determination take you over.I would definately smuggle the drugs in for my kid.My kids life would be the most important thing going on at the time.

Im only 13 though and Ive never experienced how much love you could just have for one person. However, Im sure instincts would take over.
Reply:i dont think i would smuggle drugs i think that asking for donations is a much more legal way to to save a life
Reply:It would hurt like hell, but if considering my experience in such things (which is nil and none) I would refuse. Not out of moral sense but I know the man who has the least clue of what is going on is going to be the fall guy (which would be me.) and how would I help my child then if I was in jail or dead?
Reply:YES! I%26#039;d do anything for my child. And besides, the people dont have to have the drugs they take them by their own accord.
Reply:If you smuggle drugs without knowing what you%26#039;re doing, the best you can hope for is jail and the worst that will, note I said WILL happen is your death at the hands of the guys you%26#039;re competing with. What good would you be to your sick child if you%26#039;re in jail or dead?

Get REAL.
Reply:If I had a child I would not be willing to smuggle drugs to save his/her life because by sacrificing that one life I might have a hand in saving thousands of lives. And that is worth it.
Reply:Yeah. Also this question will probably get deleted soon so look quick!

I want to get a tattoo of my child's name. Husband says I shouldn't unless I get my 2 stepkids names as well.

I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s right that my husband says I should get a tattoo of all three of the kid%26#039;s names and not just my biological child or not get a tattoo at all. I love my baby and I think it would be nice to get my first tattoo of her name, it%26#039;s forever and she will always be my daughter. I think my step-kids would understand that I am not their biological mom so it wouldn%26#039;t be offensive to them. I do not ever want to not be married to my husband but just in case I would never get his name tattooed on me and for that same reason I would not get his kid%26#039;s names tattooed on me, either. Anyone agree with me? Even if you disagree, please give your advice. Please don%26#039;t be judgemental, you are not in my shoes. Thanks in advance...

I want to get a tattoo of my child%26#039;s name. Husband says I shouldn%26#039;t unless I get my 2 stepkids names as well.
I%26#039;m not sure if it%26#039;s right or wrong for you to get a tattoo of your child%26#039;s name and not get a tattoo of your step children%26#039;s names, but by doing so you are definitely communicating to your step children that you see your own child differently than you see them. Your decision has the potential to affect your future relationships with your stepchildren. I recommend not getting the tattoo. Why risk hurting anyone%26#039;s feelings? Besides, there are better ways to show your commitment and love to your child.
Reply:I%26#039;m not so sure that I agree with this as the Best Answer, but to some it makes sense. Still plan on getting the tattoo. Thanks for everyone%26#039;s input! Report It

Reply:I agree. If he wants a tatoo of all 3 kids, let him get it. They are all biologically his.

This baby is YOURS, a part of you. It will not minimize your love for your step-children................regardless of your love for them, they are not a part of you.

Tell their mom or your husband to tattoo their names on themselves.
Reply:your body, your tattoo...

i would probably never get one; however, if i wanted one, NO MAN would tell me i couldn%26#039;t...i doubt that!
Reply:I think its great you want to get your sons name on your body. And your heart is in the right direction. But I think you need to put all the childrens feelings before yours. If this will hurt them then dont do it.

The children should always come first.
Reply:Ok...I did this...I have my husband%26#039;s name (which conveniently is my son%26#039;s name also) tattooed on my lower back. I have NO INTENTION of ever leaving my husband. I have 3 step-daughters and I love them all dearly. I got a tattoo with all of their initials in it. I did this because no matter what...I will always love them and that will never change. I think that you should do what you want to do. It is your tattoo and not anyone elses...if you are really worried about it...get it where only you and your husband can see it.
Reply:If you ever tattoo names on your body it is the names of your parents, your children, or a very dear and very close deceased friend. Like it or not your step children are not blood, and even though you love them they are NOT of your body.

In the end it is your body to decorate as you see fit. Try to get the tattoo in a spot that won%26#039;t move too much as you age, and in a spot that can be covered easily while your at work. Don%26#039;t get too elaborate as tattoo%26#039;s distort with time.
Reply:You should tell him to go get their mother to get their names on her.Your child is yours and you have the right to show ownership. But you aren%26#039;t their mother and they may not appreciate you putting their names on your body.Tell him to get a life and get a tattoo of their names on his body if he is so found of the idea. And has for the holy than thou idiots whom say a tattoo is trashy. They are just dumb-asses.And they probably wouldn%26#039;t have the guts to get one themselves.I have my hubby%26#039;s name tattooed on my right ankle in a rose.I am getting one of my son on my left.Just a heads up.It can be painful if your are a person sensitive to needle pricks.
Reply:would you make a difference in them any other way? it doesn%26#039;t matter that the kids aren%26#039;t yours.. you should love them like they are... if you don%26#039;t want to get their name tattooed on you, thats your business, you will be the one explaining to the kids though why only the one name is there.
Reply:I agree with Earl.

Do you really want to be a mom with a tattoo or tattoos or, even worse, a granny with tattoos one day?
Reply:I would not put there names on myself if I was you. Your child came from you and the others did not blood for blood.
Reply:although it sounds unfair...your analogy of step children is understandable...
Reply:the problem is solved easily...don%26#039;t get any tatooes...very bad idea, very divisive in your marriage, and if your step kids like you or love you, I cannot imagine your taking a chance on hurting them. What is really the issue here? It certainly is not a tatoo, is it? If you have a good marriage, I cannot think of a better way to worsen it..your husband loves all his kids...you love one. This is trouble waiting to happen. Don%26#039;t be in a rush to have your husband%26#039;s name tatooed on your body.. if you were to do this to me, you would need laser removal before to long. NO ONE messes with my kid%26#039;s feelings when they easily could have avoided it. Good luck and peace.
Reply:well u r right 100% i think they r u%26#039;r step kids... there not u%26#039;r kids by blood... %26amp; well all i have 2 say is that u r 100% right %26amp; if he don%26#039;t like it then just w/e he%26#039;s not u%26#039;r boss... is he??? well anyway she is u%26#039;r first child so do it... i%26#039;m sure it will look nice %26amp; u%26#039;r step children shouldn%26#039;t mind... unless they call u mom?!?! or do they call u by like a nick name or u%26#039;r first name... well hope u%26#039;r tattoo looks great ~Mary~
Reply:I totally agree with you it is not fair of him to ask you to get somebody Else%26#039;s kids tattooed on you I feel that he is being selfish. It is not that you don%26#039;t love his kids it just that a mother have a special bond with her kids and that is all that you are trying to express tell him to chill and think of you and your feelings!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Do not get ANY tattoos..
Reply:He%26#039;s being controlling ... girl go get your baby%26#039;s name tattooed on you ... it%26#039;s your body ... that%26#039;s ridiculous ... good luck ... I would be pissed ... he needs to get over it and move on ... do something for all three of them like name a star or something with your last name ... or go get family pictures taken ... !
Reply:Yeah, I agree with some of those above.... tatoos look trashy and cheap.... I%26#039;d be embarrassed as heck if my mom did that... yeacko
Reply:I agree with you, if you want to get your daughters name tattooed on you that is fine, he shouldn%26#039;t expect you to do the same full name with the three step kids maybe get a rose or something with their intials in it or get one where they won%26#039;t see it while i hope it never happens you and your husband may get a divorce do you want kids names on you that aren%26#039;t yours I have a 12 yr old stepdaughter and i was a stepdaughter and still am one myself. Some parents just expect us as people coming into the relationship to just automatically pick up their kids and put them on a freakin pedestal and if we make one mistake it is like the whole world has ended but they can do whatever they want to thier kids untill you are a step parent you have NO RIGHT to judge others who are step parents untill you know what it is like. As long as you continue to treat ALL the kids bio and step fairly i see nothing wrong with it.
Reply:I totally agree with you for the same exact reasons. One never know what the future holds, we all want our marriage to be forever and we work hard at it but there is no guaranty in life. I would not get the tattoo to avoid disputes or I would get something else that is not so controversial to my partners eyes.
Reply:I have 2 stepchildren myself who are now grown and gone. They are not mine by birth but by heart. It is impossible to make one and all happy. Try compromise, maybe your baby%26#039;s name and also the other childrens initials in a heart or scroll work. It took us years to get everyone happy but we did it with compromise. Good luck and best wishes
Reply:How would you feel if your mom or dad had your name tattooed on them? I don%26#039;t think your child will think it is cool at all! I would not do it. You can get a tattoo but pick something you like not your child%26#039;s name.
Reply:I don%26#039;t see anything wrong with getting a tattoo of your child%26#039;s name. You really have no reason getting a tattoo with the stepchildren%26#039;s names because afterall you have given birth to your child and not to the stepchildren. I am sure that you love the stepchildren as much as your own but there is no better love than your childrens. I love tattoos as long as they are small.
Reply:if you feel that you don%26#039;t want to get your two step kids named tattooed on your body, than don%26#039;t. you know that your biological child will always be YOURS. but what you said is exactly right, take your own advise because i agree with it 100%
Reply:Well if you must get a tattoo why not have one with the kids or something but no names maybe a nice picture kid minded, think of the other kids they would be may be a little bit hurt or feel left out there.and your husband is probably coming from that point may be..good luck.
Reply:I can understand you wanting to just have your bio child%26#039;s name tattooed on you, but I can also understand your husbands point as well. He is trying to take up for his children and does not want them to feel unloved by you. and so if his children see that you have not tattooed their name on your body...then to them it says that you do not love them. and it is all about your baby. It is a strange situation to be in, but you really need to know that even though this is your bio child....it affects his other children as well. I would suggest not getting tattooed, unless the 2 of you break up. by doing so may also cause jealously between your child and the step children, and there is going to be enough of that anyway.
Reply:I would never have my stepkids names tattoo%26#039;d on my body. They AREN%26#039;T my kids!! I totally hear you, think that your hubs is taking it a little personal and a little too far.---That would be like having my ex%26#039;s name tattoo%26#039;d on my body along with my husband. ;)

EEEWWW!! lol....
Reply:First of all it is your body and your should be able to do with it what you want! Your husband should be able to respect that and understand what you want to do....sounds like there is more going on then a simple tattoo!! She is your first born and if that is what you want to do then he should be supportive of that. Does he have his kids names on his body? If so then he should understand.....hope this helps!
Reply:I think anything you decide to put on YOUR body should be up to you. I don%26#039;t think I would put my step child%26#039;s name on my body either. Your child is just that your child by all means if you only wish to have your child%26#039;s name, then only get your child%26#039;s name.................. Your body, Your choice......
Reply:He%26#039;s right! It%26#039;s not fair to your stepkids! You can show your love in many ways besides the stamp! Besides, since the baby won%26#039;t read for at least several years, it would be meaningless to her.
Reply:Incredibly tacky.
Reply:Tattoo%26#039;s are trashy. Avoid this problem by not getting one.

What things did you keep from your child's first year???

I kept heaps.

Their first suits.

Clamps (from the belly button)

Wrist bands (mine and theirs)

Their first pair of shoes

All the hair from their first hair cut.

And more.

People think I am strange, because I kept so much. If I could go back I would probably keep more. :D

What did you keep??

What things did you keep from your child%26#039;s first year???
I didn%26#039;t keep anything because my Mom got to it all first. lol. She seriously kept the bandage from his heel poke (its actually pretty cute, I don%26#039;t know how they bandaged your kids but this bandage is still shaped like his teeny little foot) and the band-aids from all his shots. That%26#039;s crazy.

She%26#039;s sure a great Grandma though!

I actually did keep:

first outfit

crib card from hospital

wristbands his/mine/daddy%26#039;s

hospital pacifier

cards from baby shower

ultrasound photos, of course

I like that idea below about making a quilt out of the old baby clothes. That%26#039;s so good I%26#039;ll have to rip it off. Sorry.
Reply:the cigar band ........

his stuffed Pirate Bear that is a little larger than a beanie Baby that we are taking Portraits of hm with at Newbron,3,6,9 %26amp; 12 mths old and plan to hopefully get one every year with him kind of to judge his size differences from on photo to the next ......

we will keep some hair from his first hair cut .......

we plan to make a quilt from our favorite outfits .....
Reply:I kept Clamps and wristbands as well :-) And all of her 0-3 month clothes (with the exception of a few onesies and sleepers that weren%26#039;t anything too special), her first pair of shoes. she is only 7 months old so we will see how much other stuff I will end up keeping! I also still have all of the cards I received at my baby shower before she was even born.

I don%26#039;t think you are strange at all!

My mother didn%26#039;t keep anything from when I was a baby, so I am working hard to keep much for my daughter to see when she grows up because I know how it feels to not have any of it and I don%26#039;t want her to feel that way.

You are doing a great thing :-)
Reply:The first thing he wore home

The wristbands so small now to look at :)

His first bottle

All my cards and the discharge from hospital report

His clamp/peg from bellybutton

His first teddy

Booties that his lovely nana from overseas knitted
Reply:id keep evertthing if i could!!!!, the 1st year is so special, i kept the usual stuff too, pregnancy tests, wristbands, newspaper photo [we were in the paper. lol] hair, fave blanket, one peice suit, cord clamp, birth cards from gifts, fave rattles, feeding chart that i kept note of in hospital,

the more you keep the better, i regret getting rid of heaps of my kids stuff, thats why with ash i keep more, cos i know how much those items mean, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Reply:Im exactly the same. The first year of your child%26#039;s life is so precious - I dont think I threw out anything, even their baby toys and chewed up teething rings!

I have their hand prints on clay which I absolutely love!

I even kept the foil balloons I received from someone at the hospital when I had my first child!
Reply:%26quot;Hair Lock%26quot;: Gold``

Reply:Everything!!! So I%26#039;m stranger than you... lol

My daughters are now 7 and 5 and I still have the outfits they wore home from the hospital (they both wore the same outfit)

and our latest addition will be wearing that outfit home as well once he arrives (its a Bonds blue jumpsuit).

I still have newborn nappies that I didnt use (although alot of them have gone to their dolls)

Clamps and belly button stump, my 2nd daughters got eaten by ants because I forgot to put it in a glad bag straight away.

The majority of their clothes, shoes, blankets and toys.

We moved to a smaller place so I had to get rid of alot of stuff. I kept EVERYTHING (from birth and up) of theirs until just recently so I had tonnes of clothes and toys and shoes etc. So I donated alot and only kept the most precious outfits, blankets etc. But I%26#039;ve still got 2 huge boxes full of their stuff.
Reply:I%26#039;ve kept loads too, the clamp and wristbands, the first ever thing I bought - a thick cosy white ribbed cardigan, plus a few items of clothing I just loved to see him in, first shoes and trainers, first %26#039;toy%26#039; - My First Alfie - he loved it!, his first santa suit lol he dressed up age 3 months on Christmas day, his first Celtic shtrip (blame dad, he never had it on but couldnt throw it out) all his cards from when he was born, all his first birthday cards too, pram blanket, i probably could go on and on, with No2 on the way I%26#039;m gonna need a bigger house lol xx
Reply:me too..he%26#039;s now 3mth old...i kept his baby suit for the first 3 mths, his baby hair, belly button clamp, umbilical cord and thousands of photos..I took pictures of him using my handphones and camera EVERYDAY! lol

Do any other Mom's have this problem with fitting their child's feet?

My daughter is 12 but she has 7 1/2 shoe size. Where can I find shoes esp dress shoes or winter boots that aren%26#039;t too old (sexy) or just too old (mature--old lady...lol)????? Any suggestions?

Do any other Mom%26#039;s have this problem with fitting their child%26#039;s feet?
Sadly i%26#039;m size 8 in shoes and i%26#039;m 13!You%26#039;d have to go to womans store but you can still get something..not to mature.
Reply:OH MY GOD!!! That%26#039;s just how I was. It%26#039;s totally normal. And I%26#039;m not just saying it because I was the same way but I%26#039;m telling you that you have nothing to worry about.
Reply:try mail order like lands end or other stores shoes don%26#039;t have to be in style at her age if they are you both have a problem
Reply:Wal-Mart (or Sam%26#039;s Club), depending on where you live has a lot of cute shoes. Also try Payless, or some of the stores in the mall. Take her with you to choose her shoes. She%26#039;ll be much happier with shoes that she chose on her own than shoes that you chose for her. Just set a price limit! If she finds shoes that she likes that are over the price limit, then keep your eyes out for something similar.

Sketchers is a good brand with lots of cute shoes.

Re-written version of....Wrote it myself :)?

As a Teen I have Noticed that if we%26#039;re doing THE RIGHT thing we wont have a problem with Our Parents but if we%26#039;re doing the WRONG thing we will ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN!!!

1. Cant Date until you 18( IF you ARE a GIRL)....Now I%26#039;ve noticed it%26#039;s not the same for boys WANT KNOW WHY? .......BEACUSE Boys cant get PREGNATED and they aren%26#039;t as HOT (tailed)and Fast AS WE ARE( sorry girls I%26#039;m just telling it like it is)

I don%26#039;t ask you where you going!%26quot; ....Ya%26#039;ll want to know why you don%26#039;t get to go nowhere and your face hurts and you%26#039;re doing 4 to 3 months up in your room and hard labor around the house? Because their YOUR( W E%26#039;s W U ) You%26#039;re NOT THEIRS!!!

7. MOMS SEE EVERYTHING!!! so next time they tell U to do something avoid the EYE ROLLS before she knock them of the floor!!!

Love U Leeza.......16.......

I%26#039;m 18 now :)

Re-written version of....Wrote it myself :)?
1. I don%26#039;t believe in letting boys date until they are 18 either hon. Why?Because I don%26#039;t want them making a baby they are not ready to raise and get in a relationship they are not ready to commit to.

2.If you dress like a wh-re, the guys WILL be attracted to you and sex is all they will think about and want AND WILL tell you EVERYTHING you want to hear and do ANYTHING to get it.

If they don%26#039;t get sex, they will dump you.If they do get sex they will dump you and you will get a bad rap fair or not. Also, kids will think your parents are trash for letting you dress like trash.

3.There is a reason they do not let you stay out until 3 A.M. hon.Watch where your friends end up.

4.If you lie and something goes wrong then your parents are responsible for you.A chapperone if they are trustworthy sees to it no one does something they aren%26#039;t supposed to do.

5.Look at kids in Mexico,Iraq,India, most don%26#039;t have a nice bed to sleep in they sleep on the dirt.Learn to be grateful for a place to live food to eat clothes etc, you live like KINGS AND QUEENS compared to most of the world.

6.The parents are adults and can go where they need to go and want to go and most cases DON%26#039;T want to go , like work everyday to make money to take care of you.They%26#039;d rather be spending their time with you hon. They have a right to know who your with and where your at and what you are doing.THEY are responsible for you if your at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people.

7.Good advice.

8.More good advice.

9.Thats right your an adult when your supporting yourself.

10.Theres 3 things that haven%26#039;t changed.GOD hasn%26#039;t changed and neither HIS standards, satan hasn%26#039;t changed and wishes to destroy mankind, and man%26#039;s sinful nature hasn%26#039;t changed, it is still leading him away from GOD and what is right.

Vision/ Scope?

Vision/ Scope

E-Commerce is a panacea to expand a business beyond the boundaries. Huge revenue can be generated by providing services or products in international market. Many successful businessmen used E-Commerce strategies to expand business activities to get maximum share in international market. There are many examples of successful businesses in Pakistan like US Apparel, Guard Rice etc. who expanded their business gradually and now they are pioneers in their business. If one student becomes able to implement such type of activity, he will create many opportunities for other graduates. Because when one graduate gets a job, he becomes able to afford at most one family only and on the other hand, if one graduate starts business successfully, he becomes source of earning for many families. Students would be asked to give an idea of products or services in which they are agreed to get excel in future. Further, the students can be asked to analyze a current system (company or an organization) to identify its problems and providing them the e-business \ e-commerce solutions to participate the globalization

After the successful completion of the course, the students should be able to implement e-commerce strategy in both ways like:

1. Implementation of new business idea with comprehensive international market analysis with respect to culture, language, trust building, economic position, demand of any product or service (remember: 70% new ideas fail due to lack of market analysis)

2. Expansion of old or existing business by E-Commerce to get benefits of globalization and international market share to generate huge revenue from business.

Remember:

Competing the international market is not a child’s play; it requires a comprehensive market analysis, compliance with the international standards and any business man can get benefit from fulfilling any unmet need of the inhabitants of any country. This is possible via E-Commerce. Further, it should be taken into consideration what we can produce in Pakistan easily with low cost. We can enlist the products like leather, cotton, furniture, rice, wheat, soft ware, towels, socks, vegetables, fruit, shoes, books, paper, gifts, flowers, toys, jeans, dresses, shawls, man power etc. Also, we should keep in mind what we should import from abroad like machinery, vehicles, electronics etc.
